For those who think they are paying too much tax, and want to do something about it.

Have you ever wondered how despite how much tax your paying, the government never has enough? People pay income tax, property tax, tax on goods, a higher tax for cigarettes, alcohol and petrol. In most countries you have to pay a user fee for government services. And yet in most countries governments borrow year after year.

All money in circulation has been issued by a central bank. All money in your pocket is a bank note issued by a central bank. We can only pay the interest, year after year. Every year the interest is paid, the money in circulation decreases, and we're still left with the principal. At some point more money must be borrowed, which will only raise the amount of interest which must be paid. That's why you are paying so much tax, your paying for government services plus interest.

What is the solution. In this book David E. Robinson, states the two solutions. All debts issued by the international bankers, must be canelled after 70 years. However, if the 70 years is over, and the country owes $100 billion dollars, and is in a war and needs to borrow $5 billion. That country will not have its $100 billion debt cancelled, it will be renewed, because it needed to borrow that $5 billion.

Their is another way to do it though. If you've gone through this process you will feel immediate financial relief. Their are other things to carefully consider though. For instance an employer usually asks for taxpayer identification. So yes, this is something you need to carefully consider. This still doesn't change the fact that this is the book that shows the process to being free financially. Also it does answer that concern, if what this book is saying is true, than you still use your taxpayer ID card, but your taxes go to you. Just make sure you know what your doing before you take action.

This book applies not just to Americans. All over the world a licenced lawyer swears to the BAR, which is in Britain. The UCC code applies to all over the world. Comprehensive Review of ITIL For IT Professionals

ITIL For Beginners is exactly that, a book that will take you from no background knowledge to a basic understanding of the subject. ITIL is an acronym for Information Technology Infrastructure Library. The goal being to more directly link the IT of a company to the needs of the people in the company and the customers of that company. ITIL focuses on service, the current five volumes are ITIL Service Strategy, ITIL Service Design, ITIL Service Transition, ITIL Service Operation and ITIL Continual Service Improvement.

I myself work in IT, for those that already do, this gives some background of how things should work but you won't pick up anything earth shattering here. If you pick this up with the intent of breezing through it and getting certified, well good luck to you, I'd say that your chances of that are slim without any other experience or study/reference sources. Not impossible, just a stretch.

Be aware that this is no light read, you had better be invested in the subject matter or you won't make it past the first onslaught of acronyms (and there's a small army of those to commit to memory). It is very comprehensive in covering all the topics (training, testing, monitoring, reporting, risk management, etc) , some more indepth than others, but enough on all fronts to give you a clear understanding. If you come into this book with some basic IT knowledge and experience then you shouldn't have any trouble with this book and it would provide an excellent resource for certification review. If you come in with no experience and hope to just cram the information from this book into you head and take the exam, think again. It would be a very tough slog.

I have a Master Degree in Business and I'm always looking, researching and studying important topics that can help me in my improvement. One of my interests was to receive my ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) foundations certification. I really enjoyed reading this book. As a Project Manager you interact with so many different people in different industries. We are not always savvy in that particular industry regarding the rules of the game. One thing I learned from this book is that IT Systems is different from IT Services. IT Systems is the collection of parts that combine and work with one another, thereby the IT System is a cluster of every IT Service. Providing the Service in itself is given by a person who does all the work. Businesses do not want to know all the ins and outs of the process.

Just in like in project management, ITIL has a Service Lifecycle, which is a 5-phase approach to implementing new systems or improving existing services. The 1st Phase is the Service Strategy: in this phase you must consider costs, efficiency and desired performance for the business. 2nd phase Service Design: the breakdown of requests of the business management to the IT Service designers. 3rd Phase Service Transition: The testing phase where we implement a service to see if it will work and not disrupt current services. 4th phase Service Operation: This phase tells us if the testing phase was successful. Lastly the 5th pase: CSI or Continual Service Improvement: In this phase we deploy and continue to test what was implemented and tweek as needed to improve the process and service to the client.

So much more to read and understand. Great book for everyone working in the IT field. New people going to this field should also read this book so they understand the processes they will be using.

Sharpe, 1996. 4th ed.) or Paul Dukes's A History of Russia (Duke Univ., 1998. 3d. ed.), and complementary to Fred Coleman's The Decline and Fall of the Soviet Empire (LJ 5/1/96), Strayer's study not only incorporates basic historical facts but also muses on how historians do their work. Two-thirds of his book deals with the period after Mikhail Gorbachev came to power in the mid-1980s, and Strayer thoroughly examines what Gorbachev tried to accomplish and why he failed. Excellent Overview

Strayer's book is more than proposing one particular thesis as to why the USSR is no longer in existance. His book is more about using the events that happened between 1985 and 1991 (while keeping in mind the context of 1917-1985) to look at how a historian does his/her work. Rather than proposing one thesis and saying this is the reason for the collapse, Strayer examines a multitude of theses and discusses the pros and cons of each of them from a historians perspective.

I would recommend this book for two reasons, one if you want to know what events influenced the collapse of the USSR, this book does a good job (well documented too) of providing an overview of those events. From the rise of Gorbachev to the failed coup attempt. The second reason I would recommend this book is that from the perspective of a history teacher, Strayer gives an excellent opportunity to look at how historians analyze events and try to develop a thesis to fit those events. This book would serve as an excellent way to look at the historian's trade.

Overall, Strayer has given people several theses and the information to back those theses so that they can make up their own minds as to why the USSR is no longer around.

I absolutely loved the book. It provides numbers, analysis, objective political and financial data and a very balanced presentation of the whole situation, in depth of time. You don't need to be a financial or political specialist to "get" the book, but some background does help.

One of the most important events of the late 20th century

Robert Strayer does a wonderful job of communicating the changes in the Soviet Union, and the Communist Bloc, and foreshadwoing the eventual downfall of the role of communism. Strayer sets up the thesis of the book with a fairly in depth history of the Soviet Union following WWII, broken down by Presidents of the USSR. It is interesting to follow the major changes which occurred mainly at the powerful hands of the Soviet leaders during the Cold War. It is also very interesting to see such a silent, yet inevitably deadly, political pattern emerging -- hindsight is 20/20. This book is a great look at one of the most massive political changes in the 20th century.

Great for kids and adults

I enjoyed this book a lot, and I'm well over the suggested age range. I've read many of Watson's books to my 7-year-old son, who's under the suggested age range, and we've both gotten hooked on them. I like the character bits and dialogue; he likes the fight scenes!

This one is divided into 4 sections, each focusing on a different generation of Jedi. The first is about Dooku as a Padawan, the second is about Dooku as a Knight with Qui-Gon as his Padawan, the third covers Qui-Gon as master with Obi-Wan as his Padawan, and the fourth is set in the early stages of the Clone Wars with Obi-Wan and Anakin. Linking them all together is a character who appears in all four sections, a onetime friend of Dooku's named Lorian Nod who has several run-ins with the Jedi.

Watson is a master of characterization and what I enjoyed most about this book was getting to see what Dooku was like at age 13, what he was like later on as Qui-Gon's master, and some of the events that shaped his life. Even more fun was seeing a young Qui-Gon and the early manifestations of his reserve, his rebellious nature and his compassionate desire to help beings whom no one else will help. One gets a sense of how difficult it must have been for Qui-Gon to have been Dooku's apprentice, given Qui-Gon's strong living force connection and Dooku's almost total lack of empathy for other beings.

Part four was a mixed bag for me. I loved the scene where Obi-Wan was rude to Lorian Nod in the Jedi Council room. It's such unusual behavior for Obi-Wan, and yet it was completely in character. But the ending of the book kind of fizzled out for me; I was expecting a bigger payoff out of the redemption storyline and the ending felt rushed somehow.

But overall, this is a very fun and thought-provoking book. You have four generations of important Jedi from the movies, two of which will never stray from the Jedi path, and two of which will ultimately betray the Order and become Sith. If you are thoughtful about this sort of thing you can wonder, did events concerned with Lorian Nod cause Dooku to fall, or was he doomed to fall because he could never control his pride or even see it as a fault? And similarly, did Anakin fall because of the events in his life, or because Obi-Wan failed him, or because of inherent and unchangeable personality traits? The book doesn't answer these questions but it gives the reader plenty to think about.

Cheers for Legacy

When reading the SW books that Jude Watson writes I can't help but wonder why she isn't writing adult novels too. Her "children's" novel are often smarter, wittier, funnier, and alot better read then most of the other author's books in the EU. This is definitely the case with Legacy of The Jedi.
Legacy is separated in to four different section but weave into each other to create something magical. In the first part we learn of Dooku as a padawan and his friend Lorian. Next we get a look into Qui-Gon Jinn's apprenticeship with Dooku were they encounter Lorian once more. The third story centers around Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan and another mishap with Lorian. Finally we get a story about Obi-Wan and Anakin during the beginning of the Clone War that also involves Lorian, now an old man. While each story is separated they bounce off each other and blend into one big story.
In this book we get a glimpse at Dooku's beginning and a peak at his fall. The reader also get a look at the different relationship between Master and Padawan. From the distance with Dooku and Jinn, to the close bonds of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, to finally the widening gaps of Obi-Wan and Anakin. It's very interesting to see the different approaches the Master each take and how different each Padawan is from the other.I especially like the part centering around Qui-Gon when he was a Padawan. I wouldn't mind seeing a series revolving around his and Dooku's relationship in the future or perhaps a sequel type book to this where we once again get all four generations.
This book is a bit steep in price but reading wise it will entertain and make you wish it was a great deal longer.

Legacy of the Jedi- The best StarWars book ever made.

Even though this book, and many other books written by Jude Watson are "for ages 9-12", the depth of emotions and the touching stories portrayed in these books are superior. For ages 9-100, I say!
I am a 15 year old girl and I own all of the StarWars books, from The Rising Force (Jedi Apprentice #1) to the eighth book in the Jedi Quest series. I'm not a Sci-fi freak, but I love these books because they are so well written, and they teach important values, dealing with friendship, working through adversity, and even romance. These books are for everyone, boy or girl, man or woman.
Legacy of the Jedi was brilliant. It linked the different generations of Jedi (Yoda and Dooku, Dooku and Qui-Gon, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and Obi-wan and Anakin)as if they were seperate little books in one. Jude Watson provided excellent coherence in the book by linking all of the relationships together with each master-padawan team battling a common enemy.
Each team has a weakness that they have to work through. Each team is different. It is amazing to see what Dooku was like as a boy, and what made him become Count Dooku. It was also good to see what Qui-Gon was like before he became the logical, perfect master.
This book is definatly recomended!! If you like this book, read Jedi Apprentice Special Edition 1&2- they're awesome!
