I couldn't stop reading it!

Wonderful! Brilliant! I could not stop reading it.
If you are familiar with Genesis, the first book of the Bible, you will appreciate this book even more. I have read it in Portuguese, so I don't know if the English translation conveys Saramago's thoughts in the same intriguing way.
I love his sarcasm and the way he forces us to question things that we have always accepted without questioning.

Praise for Cain

The story of Cain, told by the logic view of Saramago, is a master piece. Saramago was not catholic but he knew the bible like a priest, he wrote two books about it, and both discredit the bible, he called it the Book of Nonsense. he won the Nobel, and it's difficult to describe his writing, I think he was the perfect writer.
